Jonathan joined the firm in late 2012 after leaving Sydney where he studied law and worked as a solicitor. Jonathan practices extensively in:
- Property Law: commercial and retail leasing, subdivisions, easements and conveyancing.
- Local Government and Planning: advising and acting for councils, conducting local government prosecutions, compulsory acquisitions, Land and Environment Court proceedings and appeals, local court proceedings involving environmental offences, and acting for developers and landowners in relation to compliance action by councils.
Jonathan also has experience in general litigation, wills and estates, commercial law, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal proceedings and transactions concerning retirement villages.
Jonathan has a personable approach to his clients, ensuring there is an appropriate balance between legal considerations and the practical interests of the client. He is comfortable serving the interests of different types of clients from individuals to large businesses and government organisations as well understanding the needs of not-for- profit organisations such as churches, charities and schools.
Jonathan is very familiar with the far north coast having attended high school in Alstonville. Jonathan has a ‘green thumb’ and when not at work, can be found somewhere in his backyard; weeding, mowing, growing vegies and planting a range of flora. He is also an amateur coffee roaster and barista. Jonathan, his wife (also a local) and their young children live in Wollongbar.
